Our services
Learning isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither is the support offered at MindMap. We always take the time to understand your family’s unique story, uncover and celebrate strengths, and address struggles with care and expertise. Through our evaluations, coaching, and consultations, we'll help you find the answers you’ve been looking for and create a path that leads you to answers and progress.
Sometimes, understanding the “why” behind learning challenges is the key to moving forward. My comprehensive assessments help you to understand how the brain processes information, seeking untapped strengths, identifying challenges, and mapping out the best strategies for growth. With clear insights and actionable recommendations, you’ll gain a better understanding of what’s holding you or your child back and how to overcome it—at school, at home, or in life.
Empowering parents and educators with proven strategies to help students with ADHD, executive function skills, and other learning differences thrive.
Understanding learning challenges like ADHD or executive dysfunction can feel like cracking a tough code—but it doesn’t have to. My training workshops break it all down, offering practical strategies that parents and educators can use right away. From proven classroom interventions to tools for home, these workshops empower you to create environments where students with learning differences can truly shine.
When it feels like your child’s needs aren’t being fully met, an Independent Educational Evaluation can provide the answers you’re looking for. I’ll help you advocate for meaningful accommodations that ensure your child gets the support they deserve.
Navigating the world of special education, IEPs, and 504 plans can be stressful and confusing. My family consultations are designed to make it easier. I’ll help you understand complex assessment reports, advocate for the right services, and develop a plan that works for your family. With a clear understanding and expert guidance, you’ll feel more equipped to support your child every step of the way.
The focus of this evaluation is to identify the individual cognitive strength and weaknesses and to understand whether an individual presents with cognitive, psychological, or neurodevelopmental disorders and/or suspected learning disabilities that may impact their academic and/or vocational functioning. These assessments can identify:
Learning Disabilities such as Reading (Dyslexia), Writing (Dysgraphia), and Math (Dyscalculia)
ADHD and Executive Functioning Disorders
Neurodevelopmental Disorders (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disabilities)
Emotional challenges impacting learning and achievement (e.g., anxiety, depression)
School neuropsychological assessments provide a comprehensive and in-depth evaluation of an individual’s cognitive abilities and neuro-psychological processing strengths and weaknesses, academic skills (e.g., reading and math), and social-emotional functioning. This assessment can identify learning disabilities, developmental disorders, or other factors affecting an individual’s academic performance.
An IEE, or Independent Educational Evaluation, is an assessment conducted by a qualified evaluator who is not employed by the school district. This type of evaluation is typically requested when a parent or guardian disagrees with the results of an evaluation conducted by the school district as part of the special education process. IEEs can include various assessments such as psychological testing, neuropsychological assessments, speech and language evaluations, occupational therapy assessments, etc.,
Key Features of an IEE:
IEEs serve as valuable tools for parents seeking second opinions about their child's educational evaluations and help ensure that students receive appropriate supports tailored to their individual learning profiles.
An IEE aims to provide an independent perspective on a child's educational needs, strengths, and weaknesses. It can help clarify diagnoses, learning disabilities, or other factors affecting academic performance.
The results from an IEE can be used in developing educational plans (such as Individualized Education Plans—IEPs) and interventions tailored to support a child’s unique needs based on findings from both school district evaluations and independent assessments.
At MindMap Group, we are dedicated to guiding you through the complexities of obtaining educational support and accommodations at the K-12, college, and graduate school levels.
Are you unsure whether your child is eligible for special education services or if their educational needs are being adequately met? Do you feel frustrated and overwhelmed by the jargon and processes involved in special education eligibility evaluations? Are you familiar with your rights as a parent, as well as your options when it comes to advocating for your child’s education?
Understanding the differences between an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and a 504 Accommodation Plan can be confusing. Do you know when it's appropriate to request a 504 Accommodation Plan for your child? Navigating psycho-educational assessment reports and IEP documents can often feel daunting. Moreover, are school-based IEP meetings typically too brief to address all of your questions or concerns about your child's education? As experts in the field of special education advocacy, we are here to assist you every step of the way. We provide support that includes:
Helping you read and understand psycho-educational assessment reports and IEP documents.
Assisting you in actively participating during IEP meetings so that all your questions are addressed.
